Social Contribution Activities—Eifuku Gakuen Students Pack Calendars and Christmas Cards

As part of our social contribution activities, the JFE Shoji Group has offered a seasonal in-school training program to Eifuku Gakuen, a special needs school in Suginami City, Tokyo, since fiscal 2020. The program involves tasks such as inspecting, sealing and packing calendars and Christmas cards. This special program is scheduled three days a week. On Mondays and Fridays, it runs from the first period to the seventh, covering the whole day. On Wednesdays, the work is done in the morning. This fiscal year, 15 or so students were in charge of processing more than 20,000 calendars, which were delivered to the Group’s business partners over a period of two months.
One student shared this: “When folding the boxes for the calendars, we pay careful attention because if it gets creased or damaged anywhere, it becomes unusable.” A teacher said: “Students who could only roll 50 on the first day can now roll 100 or 200 after some practice,” highlighting the students’ growth and improvement.
We will continue to support children’s education to create a more sustainable society in which all people live and prosper together, aiming to achieve the central promise of the SDGs: “Leave no one behind.”
