J FE Shoji Group Holds Company Blood Drive

The JFE Shoji Group held a company blood drive on September 7 at the Shin-Otemachi Building.

This is one of JFE Shoji’s social contribution activities, and has a direct impact—employees can save the lives of people who need blood transfusions to treat an illness, during surgery, or in other medical emergencies. This was the second blood drive the company has set up since 2014.

On the day of the drive, forty people donated blood after receiving a blood pressure test, going through an interview, and having their hemoglobin levels and blood type checked.

The bloodmobile was parked on the street in front of the Shin-Otemachi Building’s east entrance. Donors included JFE Shoji Group employees as well as employees of Shin-Otemachi Building and Tokiwa Bridge tenant companies who stopped by to contribute. One of these surprise donors said: “It’s Social Contribution Month at our company, and I just happened to see the bloodmobile online, so I stopped by.”

In this way, the drive involved our Group company employees as well as the larger Otemachi community thanks to the location, which is a major business area in Tokyo. Next February, we plan to hold a blood drive at Otemachi Financial City. We will continue to pursue social contribution activities with the cooperation of our many employees.
