JFE Group Exhibits at Wind Expo

The JFE Group exhibited at Wind Expo, the international wind energy expo, which took place at Tokyo Big Sight over three days starting on February 28.
The JFE Group has made the offshore wind-power business a key part of its drive to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050. The eight JFE Group companies exhibiting at the expo showcased the Group’s progress in five fields: materials, foundations, construction, operation and maintenance, and supply chain. For example, JFE Steel promoted its J-TerraPlate™ large and heavy steel plate, which is ideal for building offshore wind turbine monopiles. Meanwhile, JFE Engineering promoted its Kasaoka Monopile Factory, Japan’s first factory capable of mass-producing offshore wind turbine monopile foundations. Kasaoka Monopile is located in Kasaoka City, Okayama Prefecture.
The JFE Group is focused on optimizing offshore wind projects by leveraging its global network to match the needs of power companies seeking to generate ripple effects in their local economies with those of Japan’s leading potential suppliers looking to enter the offshore wind-power industry.
The JFE Group will continue to leverage its comprehensive capabilities to make offshore wind power a success and expand its business in the field.
