First-Ever Osaka Office Family Day

First-Ever Osaka Office Family Day

The JFE Shoji Osaka Office held its first-ever Family Day on July 25, drawing twelve employees and their family members.

On the day, placards welcoming each family were placed at the reception hall. Osaka Office general manager Shinji Kitajima started things off by greeting all of the families. The event had two parts: the junior seminar and the boardroom visit and office tour. During the junior seminar, participants learned about our company’s business and enjoyed a quiz contest about steel. Other programs helped employees’ children become more familiar with what their parents do for a living.

The children had fun making crafts with tin cans one of our business partner companies manufactured, picking up candy with toy replicas of excavators built by another, and playing a ring toss game to win cans of Nozaki Corned Beef produced by Kawasho Foods, among other activities.

The boardroom visit began with a greeting from general manager Kitajima. Children then participated in the business card exchange event in the reception room. The office tour incorporated a sticker rally to make it more fun. The children took their sticker cards and collected the stickers placed throughout the office, all while interacting with the employees.

Children who participated told us things like “My dad’s workplace was so much fun!” and “I want to come here again tomorrow!” We also received thank you letters the next day. Feedback from employees who participated included things like “I really liked the homey atmosphere” and “I was so glad to see my kids having so much fun. I hope we continue holding this event.”

We will continue to hold similar events to deepen understanding of our company and foster a more pleasant workplace that values families.
