Our flower arrangement club held an event titled “A Little Flower Arrangement Show” at the head office on July 26, with the goal of communicating the appeal of flower arrangement. Held for the second year running, the workshop drew nine JFE Shoji employees.
　On the day of the event, club instructor Haruko Miyamoto, who is trained in the Sogetsu School of ikebana, guided the participants as they arranged their chosen flowers in the vases of their choice. The atmosphere of the event was friendly from start to finish, featuring lively conversations with employees who have little or no contact during the course of their usual work. Comments from participants included: “I was able to make something quite good for a beginner thanks to our instructor’s advice” and “Seeing our personalities come out in our flower and vase combinations reminded me of how fascinating flower arrangement is.”
　After the event, the arrangements were displayed in the refreshment corner, the lounge, and elsewhere in the head office. This inspired conversations on topics such as how vibrant flowers in the office can raise morale and invigorate communication between employees.
