CEMCO Joins in a Beach Cleanup

A group of sixty employees and family members from CEMCO—an American JFE Shoji Group company—joined a June 24 beach cleanup organized by Orange County Coastkeeper, a nonprofit organization. Managing executive officers Tadao Takahashi and Toshihiko Iizuka attended the event at Bolsa Chica State Beach along with CEMCO executives including vice presidents Eric Larson and Tom Delpit. Despite the high temperatures and blazing sun, the volunteers collected around fifty kilograms of trash such as plastic bottle caps, polystyrene foam and snack bags in two hours.
After the cleanup, the collected trash was weighed, commemorative photos were taken, and participants feasted on sandwiches. Director of Human Resources Jessica Carrillo, who helped plan the event, commented: “We will continue to actively make social contributions to the local community under the motto of ‘giving back to the local community with an awareness of the SDGs.’”
