A JFE Group company we’ve also invested in—Perusahaan Sadur Timah Malaysia (PERSTIMA) Berhad—held its second Group meeting in Kuala Lumpur on February 18 with its subsidiaries PERSTIMA (Vietnam) Co., Ltd. and PERSTIMA (Philippines), Inc. These meetings serve as an invaluable opportunity to discuss the concrete issues each location faces and their medium-to-long-term strategy on a Group-wide basis, as well as to foster deeper communication within the PERSTIMA Group.

The meeting featured a lively discussion on how to avoid redundancy between the Group’s locations and operate more efficiently within the export business, which is a key PERSTIMA Group focus. National staff members from the three locations attended this second Group meeting in person, which follows the inaugural Group meeting held last year. Employees unable to participate in person joined online via Microsoft Teams.

The meeting proved extremely meaningful, since the attendees were able to identify and discuss issues the Group and its national staff members face together in their everyday operations, spurring the development of both short- and long-term solutions.

Special advisor Kume also participated in the networking event, and participants reported on the day’s discussions.

Together with the PERSTIMA Group, the JFE Shoji Group will continue to focus on communication as we take on challenges and expand earnings despite the tough current business environment.
