JSSM Holds Annual Year-End Event!

JFE Shoji Steel Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. (JSSM) held its annual yearend event over two days in 2024, December 28 and 31. The team-building event began on the evening of the 28th, with thecompany’s annual dinner party at the Saujana Hotel Kuala Lumpur and 108 people in attendance.

The evening’s theme this year was “Our Night, Our Theme,” with employees taking to the stage wearing outfits inspired by the themes of their respective departments, such as “Hawaiian” and “Back to School.” After each group wowed the crowd with song or dance performances, awards for long service were given out to employees in a show of appreciation for their many years working at JSSM, with different awards according to the length of service.

The second day, December 31, started with the annual year-end factory cleanup, followed by a ceremony to recognize the everyday efforts and achievements of employees. Employees with the best performance throughout the year earned individual awards, as did employees who made the significant improvements.

After various safety presentations and demonstrations, every employee signed a huge “100% JIGIRI*, 100% NYJUGIRI*” pledge banner, renewing their determination to achieve their goals. They closed out the year with a group photo, with everyone wearing new polo shirts commemorating the company’s thirty-fifth anniversary.

Employees expressed great satisfaction with the event, with one saying, “It
was really meaningful to have fun with everyone, both office staff and factory workers,” and another stating that “Working hard with my colleagues to considerour performance strengthened our teamwork.”

JSSM will continue to value team unity and the growth of every employee as it builds an ever-better workplace environment.

*“Jigiri” is the Japanese word for hoisting a load off the ground with a crane or forklift. To ensure worker safety, the crane or forklift operator temporarily stops the suspended load at a height of about ten centimeters to check the surrounding conditions and the stability of the load, thereby confirming that it is safe to proceed.
*NYJUGIRI is a safety practice to ensure that a processing line isn’t restarted while people are working inside it.
