JFE Shoji Steel Construction Materials Corp. participated in the tenth annual Kigyosai Festival on October 26, organized by customer firm Marukyu Kozai Inc. (Marukyu).

Headquartered in Kurume City, Fukuoka Prefecture, Marukyu is a leading secondary wholesaler in the southern part of the prefecture, and hosts the festival as part of its regional contribution activities. This was the first time the event has taken place in five years due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Ten employees of JFE Shoji Steel Construction Materials and President Satoru Iino joined the festivities, and the company opened a stall selling pork and kimchi stir-fry.

The festival, which started at 10 a.m., had a number of companies operating stalls and drew several hundred people, including employee family members and friends, business partners, and members of the local community. The festival-goers were delighted by a lineup of stage shows that included a manzai act by Blue River—a comedic pair well known to local TV audiences—and live performances by The Pinches, who are popular in radio programs, and the Nanchiku High School Light Music Club. The stage shows featured a variety of activities that audience members could participate in, including a weight-guessing game, a cola drinking contest, and a grand lottery.

During the closing ceremony, Marukyu President Hisashi Machidori thanked everyone for attending before leading a rousing chant of “Enjoy!” as the event’s finale.
