Kawasho Foods Conducts First-Aid Training Session

JFE Group company Kawasho Foods Corporation conducted a first-aid training session on September 26 to provide its employees an opportunity to learn practical first-aid skills and how to better handle an emergency. Around twenty employees participated in the training, which the Marunouchi Fire Department conducted.

During the first half of the session, the participants learned about cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and practiced doing chest compressions on a training dummy. During the second half, they learned first-hand how to use an automatic external defibrillator (AED). Following the verbal instructions from the training AED, they checked to see if the patient was breathing, applied an electrical shock, and then performed chest compressions.

Although the participants showed signs of nervousness, they took the training seriously, proactively asking the firefighters questions such as how much force to use when giving chest compressions and what specific actions should be taken in a real-life emergency.

Kawasho Foods will continue to hold such training sessions as part of its efforts to prepare for natural disasters and other emergencies.
