JFE Shoji Labor Union’s Nagoya-Tokai Branch Organizes Another Cleanup and BBQ Event

The JFE Shoji Labor Union’s Nagoya-Tokai branch organized another cleanup and barbecue event, which took place on June 29 and drew forty-five people, including employees who work at the Nagoya Office and their family members. The goals of these activities are to 1) raise awareness of CSR and promote communication among union members, and 2) deepen mutual understanding between their families and the company.
After gathering at Nagoya Municipal Subway’s Jiyugaoka Station at 11 a.m., the participants spent around forty minutes cleaning up the road from the station to Heiwa Park and the park’s grounds. After the cleanup, they enjoyed a barbecue at the park’s Metasequoia Square.
The event promoted interactions across departmental and generational barriers, allowing employees to communicate with people they have little or no contact with during their usual working day. Having the families of employees participate, including their children, was a valuable opportunity to deepen their families’ understanding of our corporate culture and the company’s working environment. This event is extremely popular with both employees and their families, so we plan to continue these activities.
