Social Contribution Activities—JFE Shoji Group Employees Join in Chiyoda City Cleanup

Forty-two JFE Shoji Group executives and other employees volunteered to clean up Chiyoda City on June 6, an event the local government organized.

They met up at the Shin-Otemachi Building at 7:45 a.m. After JFE Shoji Service President Fumio Takahashi made some opening remarks, the group split up into six teams and picked up trash around the Shin-Otemachi Building. For the next forty minutes, they collected a lot of cigarette butts and empty cans, as well as bath towels, umbrellas and many other types of litter.

After the cleanup session, the volunteers socialized at the ninth-floor lounge of the Shin-Otemachi Building. Comments from participants included “It’s refreshing to clean up the neighborhood early in the morning,” “Being able to contribute to society is highly gratifying,” and “The cleanup was a valuable and beneficial opportunity to communicate with colleagues from other departments.”

The JFE Group is committed to promoting a variety of social contribution activities, including raising awareness about the importance of environmental beautification.
