JFE Shoji Group company Jiangsu JFE Shoji Steel Products Co., Ltd. hosted its first Family Day on August 28. This event is meant to increase mutual understanding between the company and the families of employees as well as foster a more comfortable working environment.

The event kicked off with a greeting and company overview from Jiangsu JFE Shoji Steel Products Managing Director Yasuyuki Endo. A plant tour, quiz competition, and other fun programs followed, all designed to help family members get to know the workplace better while increasing their interest in the company’s manufacturing and products.

During a tour of the inspection room, for example, participants had the chance to inspect the products themselves using measuring instruments, electron microscopes and other tools. This experience gave them a deeper appreciation of the importance of product quality assurance processes such as dimensional measurement and visual inspection.

The father of one tour participant told the visitors about the inspection room. Seeing their fathers working, the children learned about their parents’ commitment to avoid shipping out defective products and wrong materials. After the tour, they commented, “It was fun to see my parent at work, which is not something I normally get to see,” and “The experience was very educational.”

JFE Shoji Group will continue to organize activities like Family Day that strengthen the bonds between employees and their families, and will also seek to make workplace environments better.
