In 2002, Kawasaki Steel Corporation, Japan’s major blast furnace steelmaker, and NKK Corporation integrated their operations to establish JFE Holdings, Inc., and in 2003 JFE Steel Corporation was founded. Along with the creation of the JFE Group, JFE Shoji Trade Corporation was born in October 2004 through the merger of Kawasho Corporation, a direct affiliate of the former Kawasaki Steel Corporation, and NKK Trading Inc., a direct affiliate of the former NKK Corporation.
As the core trading company within the JFE Group, JFE Shoji Trade Corporation is striving to synchronize strategies and to expand the functions and the role within the Group.
In the iron and steel field, the company is proud to play the core role in the distribution function of JFE Steel Corporation, through the establishment of supply chains to customers, taking advantage of its steel processing functions such as domestic and overseas steel processing centers.
In the raw material field, the company is making proactive efforts to develop new supply sources and to conduct investments for promising raw materials, such as coal & ferroalloy, aggressively to secure stable supply for JFE Steel Corporation.
In the field of materials and equipment, JFE Shoji Trade focuses on the procurement of many kinds of equipment to the JFE Group and the Group’s alliances while helping customers with overseas development and the exploration of new business opportunities.

JFE Shoji Trade Corporation, whose core business is the steel business, is addressing the creation of new businesses and services to tackle with such circumstances by its flexibility.

Upstream & Downstream Development Of Regional Business
The major strengths of steel professional, JFE Shoji Trade Corporation, lie in our established steel processing centers with close regional ties, and a business organization that provides detailed customer services. Upstream. JFE Shoji Trade Corporation sells steel products for JFE Steel Corporation. Downstream, our processing centers deal in made-to-order steel products.
We shall continue to function to the full as a trading company, maintaining and expanding processing centers as sales bases with physical distribution and warehousing capabilities that assure timely response to a variety of customer requirements.
Furthermore, we aim to unify JFE shoji Trade’s corporate strategy to boost earnings, and improve sales of processed steel products in the Kanto area. In February 2004, with the joint investment of Metal One Corporation, we established “Mizushima Metal Products Corporation,” and is strengthening blanking operations with a view to expanding demand from the automakers and automotive parts manufacturers.
In August 2006, JFE Shoji Shipbuilding Corporation was established to undertake working and processing operations for shipbuilding in an integrated manner, which range from primary processing to block fabrication, so that we will be able to serve the needs of shipbuilding yards in Japan with which highly demanding orders are placed. Furthermore, In April 2013, the sales division of Naigai Steel Corporation were integrated to JFE Shoji Kohnan Steel Center Co. Ltd. Due to that, JFE Shoji Kohnan Steel Center is able to cope with various needs from customers by utilizing both the function which has been accumulated as Steel Processing Center and the sales ability of the trading house which is added through this integration.
Moving Towards Boosted Competitiveness
In the field of steel manufacturing operation, which is our core business, reorganization and consolidation of our group companies have been promoted to further strengthen our competitiveness and improve efficiency and rationalization of their business operations.
In the field of construction steel business, by integrating JFE Shoji Trade Steel Construction Materials Corporation and JFE Shoji Construction Material Sales Corporation, which are in charge of sales in Eastern and Western regions of Japan respectively, JFE Shoji Trade Steel Materials Corporation was established and inaugurated in April 2013 as a core trading company of the construction steel business of the JFE Trade Shoji Group in order to establish a sales structure more suitable for the demand trend of construction steel in the future domestic market. Through this integration, Tohsen Ltd. and Shin Nihon Kogyo Co., Ltd., which were subsidiaries of JFE Shoji Trade Corporation are able to enhance the customer services as direct subsidiaries of JFE Shoji Trade Steel Materials Corporation through the integrated collaboration beyond the regional framework.
In the steel-pipe field, JFE SHOJI PIPE & FITTING TRADE CORPORATION has established a sales structure which covers the nation-wide area of Japan as the largest steel pipe and tube sales company in Japan, whereas part of sales operation businesses was transferred from the JFE Steel in fiscal 2011 in order to further strengthen our sales functions. By incorporating Hoshi Kinzoku Corporation and Aichi Kanzai Kogyo Corporation as direct subsidiaries of JFE Shoji Trade Corporation, we are addressing implementation of restructuring and integration of the steel pipe business of the JFE Shoji Group and consequently further improvements of the functions within the steel pipe business as a whole.
In the field of thin steel plate for constructions, by integrating JFE Shoji Usuitakenzai Corporation and JFE Seibu Usuita Kenzai Corporation, which are in charge of sales of thin steel plate for constructions in Eastern and Western regions of Japan respectively, JFE Trade Usuita Kenzai was established and inaugurated on April 4, 2013 in order to secure the demand of thin steel plate for constructions for the future domestic market and to establish an optimum sales structure for further increases of the market share.
In addition to our community-based sales structure, each of the approximately 300 member companies of “JFE Shoji Association” which are located in such eight regions across the country as Hokkaido, Tohoku, Tokyo, Niigata, Shizuoka, Nagoya, Osaka and Kyushu support our local-based sales activities as our business partners, serving as a foundation to offer finely-tuned distribution network.
